The Quake Family Tree

I’m sitting in Logan airport delayed as usual. I’m surfing the web and reading some blogs and noticing this image floating around the internet that actually lives on Wikipedia, which illustrates the evolution of the Quake engine and all of the descendants it has begotten over the years. I don’t think it’s complete, but it’s interesting nonetheless; especially when you consider which Quake engines gave birth to other great games and which procreated some of the not-so-great games. You really get a sense of the impact these engines have.

Enough with the blogs. I’m going to see if I can get RuneScape to run on this Mac so I can tell everyone that I actually played a video game during the next podcast.

Cheers!

    Way to fail there jim.
You posted a picture that is all squished, and nasty looking.

Next time proofread your rants and try adding a link to the original image.
    :)

    Greatest post ever, Jim
And thanks for letting a lame-ass n00b like me make comments on your cool board.
    :)

*Insert whitty comments that are designated to oppose Jim*

I too think Jim is the greatest. Matter-of-factly, he’s the main reason I listen to the podcast.

LoL. For some reason my original comment wasn’t displayed properly.

Remember Jim, with great power comes great responsibility. I expect a full AAA web redesign for the site by COB tomorrow.

I agree with these guys, Jim. You are great. You are the sole reason I take part in Channel Massive.
