Thanks for the award. It really gave validation to my attempts to fairly and accurately judge Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR).

It is quite unfortunate that the Internet doesn’t forget. I suggest bringing facts to the next argument you wish to start.

    Stay tuned.

heartless_ your blog post that we discussed practically insinuates that Blizzard was working on hero classes during it’s beta phase and decided to pull them out a few months before release.

The whole hero class concept was being bandied about by players who liked playing the DoTA mod for Warcraft III and they thought it would lend itself well to an endgame progression for WoW (which was a very cool idea). This idea (note the word “idea”) came well after WoW was released. It wasn’t something Blizzard had even thought about or had even begun work on.

Honestly, I don’t understand why people were/still are freaking out over Mythic cutting classes/cities either. You can’t miss what you never had in the first place and I’m not particularly worried about it having a major impact on how WAR will play. We actually discussed the hysteria over that issue in a previous episode.

Your attempt at twisting history around to make a point is what bothered us and drew the evil eye of our ‘blog-o-steria’ segment upon you. ;)

    And one more thing…

We like you just fine heartless_. We just don’t agree with you most of the time. :)

I also want to add that the hero class debate was (and still is) fairly legendary).

You had a ton of Warcraft III fanboys who wanted to stick with lore and just try to use concepts based off of hero classes from the original game, you had another group of fanboys who wanted to use some class ideas from DoTA and incorporate them, you had some who just wanted to leave things be, etc.

It was a fun mess of a debate and I kinda wish Blizzard had gone in a different direction with how they implemented it.

The idea that every race can turn into a Death Knight just isn’t that appealing to me. :(

Seriously…a gnome death knight? I wanna gouge my eyes out every time I see a screenshot of one.

    Oni-

Nice of you to pop by with a witty “I like pie” comment. *rolleyes*

How’s my apprentice doing? Still keeping control of the Jade market? :)

I gave up on the gem market. I dropped Mining so my supply dried up. I’ve moved on to doing my best to influence the Netherweave Bag (16 & 18 slot) markets. Feel free to log on and “loan” me 2000g. *Teasing*

Mage already has the epic flyer, but I’m still working on getting one for my Warlock. LoL.

I had to comment on the “Heroes” data provided above.
If we look at the data on the link provided for the “Blue” tracker, we note the quote is from some user. The actual quote cannot be read anymore.
Also, the quote was made by Caydiem
    Caydiem is noted here
    Caydiem on WoW Wiki
    As a CM.
This is not even posted by a Dev.

I also wish to point out this little bit of info
    Caydiem in the Urban Dictionary

    1. An overzealous moderator of the World of Warcraft forums.
    2. To become power hungry, to lust for power.
    3. To abuse power.
    4. To act with complete ignorance, believing you know best, even when you are clearly wrong.

I think this says a lot about the data for the “Heroes” information.
    Hmmm…

It is quite funny when you hand someone a tool and they refuse to use it. Openedge could of taken the time to use the tool provided, searched for something simple (lets say hero classes), and found any of the following:

    http://blue.cardplace.com/cache/wow-general/8902152.htm
    http://blue.cardplace.com/cache/wow-general/8904059.htm

Or one of the hundreds of posts from Caydiem. Obviously he did something right to be allowed to post hundreds of times in regards to hero classes.

I know it may be hard for you to believe that Community Managers would be the ones to actually talk to the community about changes to the game.

    Wow…

after all this time you still have some sand in your vagina?

Might want to get that removed. I think that might have turned into a pearl by now.

    @heartless
First, I still see NO PROOF of hero classes in your links, except it was “discussed”
    Nothing about launch.
Again you offer more forum posts from Tseric, another CM. What does a CM know compared to a Dev.
What about a link to an actual post or article from Blizzard?
As to me “using the tool”, you provided the initial data, and it is YOUR argument. It is up to YOU to provide your proof.
I used the tools I had at hand to find the data I did.
My data finds information about an arrogant CM who tried to promise the world, and everyone knows about Tseric as well. Very unforgiving and as we can see from your links, not very forthcoming about data.

I still see nothing here that makes me think “Hero Classes” were a given. And according to all data, they continued to say AFTER launch they were being “worked” on…thats it.

    Your proof still fails.
