Starting this week, every Monday we’re going to post a topic here and leave it up for discussion amongst our listeners and we’ll rap about it for a bit that weeks episode.
Thanks for the idea Daniel! We always like it when our listeners do the work for us.
This weeks topic: John Walker (via Rock, Paper, Shotgun) sounds like he drinks his MMO’s alone…yaaaaaah with nobody else. How about you? Do you prefer to play solo or do you like grouping with others most of the time while you play MMO’s?
Let the Massive Mess of an Opinion commence!
Do you prefer to solo in MMO's or do you enjoy grouping?

Shoulda been 3 choices…
Like “Sometimes”
Sometimes I do…but rarely.
Great question! While I usually end up soloing in MMOs due to time constraints and my wife and children mobs, I enjoy grouping when I have the time. One of the things that I like about Warhammer is the ease with which I can move between grouping and solo play with the Public Quests. When I used to group up in a game like EQ2, I would often feel obligated to stay in game longer to help the group. In Warhammer, it is a lot easier to help a group for an hour or so, earn a heap of exp and say goodnight. Massive Mess of Opinion! I like it. The other reason that I often solo is that some of the dedicated groupers and raiders take their game play so seriously that I feel like I’m still at work. I play games to have fun, dammit!

Hmmmm…I’d have to come up with a cheesy song title to express that and I’m just too lazy today.
I think it depends… “sometimes” would have been a good choice for me as well. I definitely like to group if the people don’t suck, but there are times that regardless of the people I just like to do my own thing.
I agree w/ Daniel. While I solo mainly due to time constraints, when I group I love the experience. It’s really fun pwning shit/other ppl over voice chat. Oh and some of the most intelligent conversations Ive ever had have come out of grouping in MMOs. Not sure what that says about me… anyways, grouping= fun stuff.
“My girl wants to party all the time!”
Wants is the operative word here. While I would love to be able to group all the time, it’s so rare that a wife, two kids, 2 cats and a dog give me a chance. Alas, real life interferes with grouping- I am either always saying afk, or ninja afking- obvious when Im the group’s healer.
The point of an MMO though is grouping, interaction with others. If I wanted to play a singleplayer game- oblivion is collecting dust in the corner.
I enjoy grouping, but only with friends. Pugging makes baby Jesus cry….
@ above comment: Maybe the Channel Massive Team are attempting to start their own blog-o-steria :p

No conspiracy here. Just a trackback from a different post.
@ Jason … I’m afraid sarcasm doesn’t carry thru text
