Massive Mess of an Opinion Question of the Week (Sponsored by Splitreason.com)

Congratulations to Onigato for winning last weeks Massive Mess of an Opinion Question of the Week t-shirt giveaway!  Our spy network reports that he’s been spending all of his World of Warcraft gold trying to corner the Inscription market on Arthas and can’t afford new clothes.  We’ve got your back (literally) Oni!

We’re running another t-shirt giveaway this week (courtesy of Splitreason.com).  Same rules apply as last week.  One lucky commenter will score a free t-shirt.  All you have to do is have an opinion and leave your wisdom in the comments section of this post to be entered into the drawing.    (Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, we’ve extened the deadline to December 4th, 2008 10:00pm EST.  The giveaway winner will be announced on Episode 70.)

By now most of you have heard of Tabula Rasa’s untimely demise.   It’s never fun to see this happen to an MMO.  Dedicated fans get the shaft, employees get canned, and the MMO community as a whole suffers from it.

The question this week is simple:  Which MMO is going the way of the dinosaur next and why?

Which MMO Will Die Next?

I’d like to thank the academy… I’ve been forced to start tearing apart my old robes to get the netherweave cloth nessicary to corner the market on 16-18 slot bags… ^_^

I spent the last 24 hours leveling both Herbalism and Mining to over 300 on my new Deathknight. That was PURE & TOTAL torchure. Now I have an Herbalist to feed my new Inscription monkey. (Up to 275 skill) And soon once my Deathknight is 70, I’ll have a miner to feed my JC. For those keeping track, let’s go over my trade skillers:

    I have 3 Tailors (420, 375, 375 skills) one for each spec.
    375 Jewelcrafter
    380ish Enchanter
    275 Inscription
    320ish Herbalist
    315ish Miner

All that on one server. If there was a way to gage AH skills, i’d be 375 in that too. heh

PS: I have no idea what MMO is going to go next. I’ll guess and say AOC, b/c of all it’s broken promises. :-p

It’s a damn shame but this Poll is the FIRST time I’ve ever heard about Saga of Ryzom. I know that we here in Central Europe do not have running water and we ride on polar bears to work (mines or beet fields usually – typical third world type of job). It’s a pitty ’cause I’ve seen some cool stuff over there.
If not this Ryzom, then I say “whatever” NCsoft. This company is in it’s agony state.

why isn’t Vanguard on the list? TR might not be the greatest game but I definitely think that its better than Vanguard

Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirk, I mean Jason, I think he means Vanguard warrants a special place on the list. :)

I sure hope The “game that shall not be named” doesn’t have any Horcruxes laying around…

Nothing under the SOE umbrella will be shutdown anytime soon. The only one on that list that even MIGHT go down is Ryzom, but that’s pretty iffy since it just got picked up by another company.

I voted Other because it will probably end up being some little no-name MMO that no one has every really played that goes down.

Im going to have to go with Pirates here. Even though its an SOE title, i just dont see SOE supporting this game past 2009. Age of conan would appear to be the obvious choice, but even with 200K subs, its still enough to be profitable. Also, many people are still holding out for the big PvP patch.

COX isnt going anywhere. with their RMT rapage, it gives them even more money to operate.
