Aion is so much Lineage 2 that it makes me sick when I look at it. I spent almost 2 years in that grind-o-rama called L2 and totally I’m fed off. Same concept, same graphic design (only slightly revamped) BORRING!!
There is that L2 feel, I agree. I’d define it as World of Lineage-2-craft-with-wings.
I enjoyed it but I don’t see what it has going for it over competing free to play WOW clones like Runes of Magic. Why pay for this title? To get wings? Sorry, I have ‘em in Champions Online and they work just great and I can use ‘em whenever I want!
I enjoyed the BETA and did a pre-order. I’ve wanted to try a very long haul game like L2 or FF but at the start, versus going into those games now. It’s not perfection or the next big thing but it’s certainly as good as any of the other AAA MMOs that have come out in the past couple of years, with less bugs, is more lively and gorgeous.
What is up with Jason and his Aion hate? He’s getting to the point of comment troll at Massively. Starting to sound like someone touched him in very bad places when he tried it.
@Mark – similar for sure but then why have any other MMO than the leading fantasy one or leading Sci-fi. People could ask why do we need COH/COV, CO and that other one that is coming out? They are very much alike and targeting similar audiences but the nuances are what will make the difference as people make personal preference choices.

I’m not sure why you are getting the impression that I’m hating on Aion.
I’ve never really bashed the game. At most, I’ve just pointed out that it holds no interest to me right now.
I’ve NEVER played the beta, so my impressions of it are basically nothing.

Being that I don’t even look at the comments section or participate in the threads on Massively.com, I’d say you’ve got me confused with someone else.
Maybe it’s Jason’s secret identity running amok and he just wasn’t feeling all that creative when he gave said identity his very own name? I’m going to have to go read the thread you mention, sounds funny!
