Very good round-table about addiction with one exception.

You failed to mention or identify “WHY” certain things are addicting. Without knowing “WHY” its near impossible to answer the question “IF”.

For example – What is it that makes Heroin, Nicotine, Gambling addictive? While Drugs and Gambling are completly different “types” of addiction, I think you would be suprized that reason they are addicting, are very simular.

I don’t want to lead you to the answer but I will say this – its has something to do with Brain Chemistry. Keep up the good work guys.

Thanks for listening and also for the pointer, Mez! Readers/listeners can get a little more info about this neurotransmitter in regard to gaming at this link. However, the article is old and I don’t think that the study was extensive.
