Add CBS news anchor Hannah Storm to the growing list of fear-mongering dolts who believe that MMO’s are bringing down society.
Watch the evil video here…at your own risk.
The best part in her piece is the intro. ”But what do we really know of this dark world and this couple who is said to have become obsessed with it?”
Oooooooh…sounds creepy Hannah. Tell me more about this evil place.
What cheeses me of is just the blatent lack of integrity some journalists have when they shove this kind of drivel down our throat. ”Have we checked into the gaming addiction slant yet on this story? No?! Well lessdoit!”
You’re honestly going to tell me that gaming addiction could have lead to parents torturing their own child? I doubt it. You have to be pretty messed up in the head to begin with. A game isn’t going to change the fact that you’re already a jacked up individual.
Let the child rest and quit trying to find blame in sex, drugs, alcohol, rock-n-roll, and video games.
I would respond to this but my game playing has gotten in the way of all other activities…must…violently craft…
That is some pretty messed up stuff there. Some people are just scum and there is nothing in this world that can justify the things that they did. (if the article is true)
Atleast the guy in the news cast was trying to put Hannah in her place. I think she wanted to kick him in the nuts at the end of that.
I’m pretty sure she wanted to kick him in the nuts too. She seemed to think he wasn’t getting the REAL tragedy in all this which is that a game is once again being considered the problem as opposed to the players of the game and their own personality faults. I think it’s tragic yet funny how gaming is viewed as being so powerful as to turn this ordinary, loving couple into baby abusing maniacs. I would like to counter to her that women’s basketball is the root of all evil.
