Congratulations to Mark on the baby! General comment is that Noah’s voice is consistently lower and when I adjust the volume louder to hear him clearly, the musical interludes burst my ear drums.

I had a credit card like Mark mentioned years ago where every time I tried using the card myself it was flagged as suspicious. I called a few times to see if the detection could be tweaked and they told me know so I cut the card in pieces and chucked it in the trash. Decent warning systems are great. I’ve had one prevent a purchase when I’d left a card in a store once. But the kind that prevent me from using the card rendering me having it pointless.

I don’t think the technology is at a point where the performance and cost of OnLive is feasible. I work for a Fortune 100 company that has implemented virtual desktops globally to cut down on cost of maintaining all the VPNs. I also worked for a technology company a few years back that tried to have Citrix-like connections to run graphical software on a central server instead of installing on local clients and upgrading the desktops with the RAM and graphics cards required. Neither of these scenarios produced reliable connections and acceptable performance. I use the virtual desktop now only if/when I’m f’n desperate. If I need something on a work server and am not at home with my work issued PC or don’t have my laptop. I can connect using any PC that has internet access but it suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

    Good show.

Hey guys, about the Dune lawsuit. I hear when it comes to intellectual property, it sounds like there’s a legal presidence where if you let people use your copyrighted material, you’ll eventually lose the copyright, and thus the ability to charge people for your material, making it public domain. So when someone goes after role-players like this, it’s so some other random company can’t go and then steal the license and make their own crap for profit and claim that the IP is public domain.

Just blame the stupid legal system and lawyers. It’s all about the stupid lawyers.

Nifty audio trivia… Jason, in general, has a super loud, booming voice, no matter the scenario (RL or recording). He must have huge lungs or something. I’m usually soft spoken but I laugh loudly, so Mark always sets the audio up to account for my laughter spikes, but not my quieter speech. And then Mark usually adjusts his voice so it’s louder than both Jason and I because he loves to hear his words above all else. haha

As the newest editor of the episodes, Jason has the cards stacked against him. Maybe I’ll just start doing megaphone voice all the time and NOT laughing at all, and it’ll all be even. My cohosts have already detected some of my electrical cylon qualities during recent recording sessions, so perhaps it’s just time to embrace my robotic essence in every way. BY YOUR COMMAND…
